kidbluegrass: Bailout Sleuth

Mark Cuban is funding a web site complete with investigative reporters to track the US government (a Goldman Sachs subsidiary) bailout at www.bailoutsleuth.com

I'm sure they will find more things to add to the already long list of peculiar coincidences that surrounds Paulson, Goldman, etc...

reclusive_brian: Is capitalism dead?

I hope we don't have a global central bank by the end of the G7 meeting.

This article is a good follow-up to the American Life podcast from kidbluegrass earlier.

RP at his best at the end of this video.

Ben Stein has a good writeup about our leaders ruining our economy.

This user comment should also be in the list:
"Ben there is one more way to ruin the economy. Price fix the cost of money at a rate below the rate of inflation to encourage the use of leverage and create a large [credit] bubble. Then lower the rates more once the bubble bursts."

kidbluegrass: What's going on...

If you aren't sure about what exactly is happening with our financial situation, this episode of "This American Life" on NPR explains everything fairly clearly. So if all of this has you puzzled, you may want to listen to the show...

Basically the derivatives that Warren warned us about a few years ago when he called them "financial instruments of mass destruction" have started imploding with Lehman's bankruptcy. This caused everyone to worry about lending money on the commercial paper market because they don't know who is going bankrupt next... With these derivatives, one bankruptcy can cause a chain of bankruptcies because of hedging of the derivatives with other counter parties.

kidbluegrass: Ok, I've asked this before...

Are the people running this economy incompetent idiots or competent liars?

kidbluegrass: In Saginaw, MI...

It looks like a $1.75 will get you a house in Saginaw. That's cheaper than an americano at Starbucks (assuming you didn't get it for free...)

Trash outs? I wonder what those big screen tv's are going for?

What do you think about that kind of recycling spitzcor?

Obligatory George Carlin "Stuff" skit...

You still in Japan? Are these updates helping you out any? :-)

Here's a few funny videos from last week for you: the daily show (below) and the colbert report

kidbluegrass: House of Representin' Responds! (This is too easy...)

House of Representin' responds:

Representative # 1: That's what you said last time, dip&^*#!

Representative # 2: Yeah, I got a solution, you're a d#*$! South Carolina, what's up!

kidbluegrass: Camacho on primetime tv last night (for RB in Japan)

Sh&*,

I know sh&*s bad right now, with all this bankrupt bullsh&* and the foreclosure storms, and we're running out of credit and bailout money. But I got a solution.

I've got a 3 point plan that's going to fix EVERYTHING.

Number 1: We've got this guy Not Sure.
Number 2: He's got a higher IQ than ANY MAN ALIVE.
and Number 3: He's going to fix EVERYTHING

And I give you my word as President, he's going fix the economy too. And he's SOOO SMART! He's going to do it all in one week!

(that's the reason we need the $700 Billion passed right now... or it'll take more than a week...)
